A popular manufacturer of equipment and clothing for outdoors, Salewa, is preparing for 2021, a new version of the Salewa Dropline sneaker, which, as you know, was created specifically for cross-country speedhiking, and went on sale this spring. Called the Salewa Dropline Mid Shoe, the new shoe features an exceptionally taller shaft with increased ankle support, while maintaining the same outsole design and upper materials..

Similar to the basic version, the novelty will be available with or without a membrane. The upper of the shoe is made from a lightweight, stretchy and well-ventilated mesh material, which is complemented by TPU overlays, including the adaptive 3F System and EXA Shell. For the formation of the neck, a denser material with flexible foam inserts is used. Inside, a quick-drying mesh material, or Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane, is used, as well as an anatomical OrthoLite insole.

In addition to an anatomical insole made of shock-absorbing foam, the sole of the shoes is formed by an intermediate layer of EVA and a Pomoca Dropline outsole, which is made of a Pomoca Super Tractor blend. This material provides high traction on various surfaces, including wet stones. The difference in height between the heel and toe is not more than 6 mm. The average weight of new items will be 740 grams, the base version weighs about 635 grams.

The new Dropline Mid Shoe and Dropline Mid GTX Shoe are expected to go on sale in spring 2021 and will initially be offered in men’s only. According to preliminary data, the cost of new items will border on the mark of 180 euros for a pair without a membrane.
