Recently, the Gerber Gear brand has sent for free sale a limited series of Gerber G1-002 combat knives, which is based on the legendary Gerber Mark II combat knife model, developed in 1966 for US military personnel by American captain Bud Holzman. The limited edition has an updated handle design, as well as a partially updated blade shape that does not have a serrated sharpening..

Unlike the original, the blade of which is made of 420HC steel, the Gerber G1-002 model uses more premium CPM S60V stainless powder steel, the steel hardness is declared by the manufacturer in the range of 55-57 units on the HRC scale. The one-piece textured handle with an integrated guard is made of aluminum alloy and covered with a durable Cerakote coating.

The total length of the combat knife of the Gerber G1-002 series is almost 324 mm, the length of the handle is about 159 mm, the length of the double-edged dagger-like blade is exactly 165 mm. The knife will be supplied with a Kydex thermoplastic sheath, which is complemented by a universal belt clip. The knife, which will be offered in a limited edition of 100 pieces, has a suggested retail price of $400. A modern version of the Mark II, which almost completely repeats the original, is also available for order and is priced at $115.
