Gerber Gear has opened pre-orders for the updated Covert Auto and Mini Covert Auto series of folding knives, which inherit the design of the already classic Applegate-Fairbairn Combat combat knife and are part of the automatic collection made in the USA. New models of folding pocket knives, in total at least three versions are planned in each series, differ both in general design and in the absence of partially serrated sharpening.
The blade of everyday knives of both the Covert Auto and Mini Covert Auto series is made using CPM S30V powder corrosion-resistant steel, which, as you know, is characterized by high impact strength and good wear resistance, the steel hardness is declared within 58-60 units on the HRC scale. The smooth, minimalist handle of folding knives is made of anodized aluminum alloy, includes a lanyard hole and a removable steel clip.
The blade of the Covert Auto and Mini Covert Auto knives is removed by pressing a button, which activates the automatic extraction mechanism, the blade is fixed with a push-button lock. The total length of the knives of the Gerber Covert Auto series is almost 221 mm, the folded length is about 125 mm, the blade length is exactly 96 mm, the thickness on the butt is 3.3 mm, and the weight is 108 grams.
