Recently, the American brand Gerber Gear has expanded its collection of folding everyday knives with a new series called Gerber Sharkbelly. The manufacturer characterizes the novelty as a relatively inexpensive, high-quality and versatile folding pocket knife for everyday carry, which is manufactured at facilities located in the United States. At the moment, only two models are presented in the series — with straight and partially serrated sharpening..
Regardless of the choice of version, the blade of the Sharkbelly series knives, which has a Sheepsfoot type (sheep’s hoof), is made using corrosion-resistant 420HC carbon steel, the hardness of the steel does not exceed 54-56 units on the HRC scale. The handle is formed with glass-reinforced nylon pads that feature a distinctive anti-slip texture called Sharkskin Grip.
To extract the blade there is a small through hole, the blade is fixed with a Lock-Back type lock. The handle design also includes a large lanyard hole and a minimalist clip with abrasion-resistant coating. The full length of the open pocket knife is almost 197 mm, the folded length is about 114 mm, the blade length does not exceed 83 mm, the maximum thickness of the blade on the butt is not specified. The weight of the novelty is only 65 grams.
A new series of everyday knives Gerber Sharkbelly is already available for order through the official website of the manufacturer. Folding knives, regardless of version choice, are priced at $39, excluding international shipping.
