This year, Gerber plans to break into the low-end pocket knife market with the launch of a new low-price brand, Guardian Knives. To date, the range of Guardian Knives has about 11 models of knives and two models of multi-tools. All products are made in China, plastic overlays are used in the manufactureG10 and Zytel thermoplastic, the blade of the knives is made of 420HC stainless steel.
The Guardian K3 Clip Knife and the Guardian D2 Fixed Blade are the latest additions to the range, and the knives are available in two versions with 3″ and 2.5″ (63.5mm) blades. The total length of the K3 3″ Clip Knife when open is 181mm, the total weight is 76 grams, the length of the blade is 76.2mm. The length of the D2 3″ Fixed Blade is 182mm, the total weight is 97 grams, the length of the blade is 76.2mm. The blade of the Guardian K3 and D2 is made of 420HC steel, the handle is made of reinforced thermoplastic Zytel, the D2 Fixed Blade model is additionally equipped with a nylon sheath. The recommended cost of both new products does not exceed $25.
