After the launch of the TenNine running shoe, which featured high cushioning and an extremely oversized heel, Hoka One One decided to take that idea further with the introduction of the Clifton Edge. Designed for training and running on a variety of surfaces, the new shoe features high impact absorption, comfort, low weight and superior breathability..

The outsole of the sneakers, which also provides for an enlarged heel, has a two-component structure. The sole is formed by a wide midsole made of lightweight EVA, as well as an outsole made of reinforced and rubberized EVA, which also has a positive effect on cushioning and reducing overall weight. Despite the high width of the sole, the height difference between the heel and toe is only 5 mm.

The upper of the Clifton Edge running shoe features a lightweight, highly ventilated construction made from a lightweight, stretchy and hydrophobic weave that is padded at the neck for added support, and finished with a protective TPU overlay. The inside uses a thin and quick-drying lining and a thin insole. The average weight of the male version is about 253 grams.

At the moment, Hoka One One is already accepting pre-orders for the new Clifton Edge model, the free sales of which will begin in early July. The recommended retail price is set at $160, and it is possible to pre-order directly on the company’s website.
