ProTrek PRW-70 — a new series of outdoor watches from Casio

Casio, in addition to the already announced new products in various categories, including the GBD-H1000, G-Squad GBD-100 and GMD-B800SC, has prepared for April a new series of outdoor watches from the ProTrek collection, the premium ProTrek PRW-70 series. Initially, three versions were announced in the new series at once (PRW-70Y-1, PRW-70-7, PRW-70YT-7), which differ only in the external design of the case, dial and directly in the type of strap.

The new ProTrek PRW-70 (51.1 x 49.9 x 14.5mm, 79g/107g) is essentially a scaled down version of the premium PRW-7000 outdoor watch (58.7 x 52.3 x 14.5mm, 95g). The case of the new watch is made using impact-resistant polymer, which is sandwiched between the bezel and the stainless steel case back. The PRW-70Y-1 and PRW-70-7 versions use mineral crystal to protect the dial, while the PRW-70YT-7, which has a titanium bracelet, uses anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The functionality of the PRW-70 series models, compared to the PRW-7000, has remained unchanged. The watch includes Tough solar charging technology, Multi-Band 6 radio synchronization, third-generation Triple Sensor (compass, thermometer, barometer / altimeter) and Smart Access technology for quick and smart access to Smart Access functionality. In addition, the watch has a world time function, automatic calendar, stopwatch, countdown timer, fishing timer, high and low tide phases, automatic adjustment of the hands and several alarms, including barometer sound alerts.

Free sales of watches of the Casio ProTrek PRW-70 series should start in April. The PRW-70Y-1 and PRW-70-7 versions, which include a Dura Soft silicone strap, will cost approximately $590 and $570, respectively. The version with adjustable titanium bracelet and sapphire crystal PRW-70YT-7 will cost $880.
