After a long lull, the Karrimor SF brand, which is the military-tactical offshoot of the British manufacturer of sports and outdoor equipment Karrimor, has released several new products at once, including the Thor and Odin series. Military backpacks have so far been announced in only one size option — 40 and 75 liters, respectively, while 3-4 colors are offered to choose from, including MultiCam camouflage.
The Thor 40 and Odin 75 backpacks are made primarily from waterproof 500D Cordura nylon material, with an additional NIR treatment. The elements of the unloading suspension system are made using the same nylon material and profiled hydrophobic foam inserts, the Odin 75 version is complemented by a removable anti-slip rubber pad that is worn over the shoulder pad. Aluminum arches are used as a frame (in Thor 40 there is only one plate in the central part) and a dense polymer sheet to create the necessary rigidity.
The Thor 40 is designed with a full opening main compartment with pouch and hydration system attachment, a small top compartment, one «flat» back compartment and side pockets. The total weight of the backpack is not more than 1.8 kg. The larger model Odin 75 features a front general purpose pocket, a separate entrance for the sleeping system, and two open larger pockets on the sides. The weight of an empty backpack is stated at 3.75 kg.
The presented models of military tactical backpacks Karrimor SF Thor 40 and Karrimor SF Odin 75 have already arrived on the shelves of official dealers, depending on the choice of colors (Olive, Coyote, Black, MultiCam) and are estimated at 150-190 and 260-370 dollars, respectively.
