Among the key innovations of 2019 from Adidas in the Terrex outdoor line is a new series of lightweight low shoes called Terrex Free Hiker. The new model, which will be available in men’s and women’s versions, has been designed for hiking, speed-hiking and trail running, using new state-of-the-art technologies for the construction of the upper and lining..
The upper of the new lightweight low shoes is made of PRIMEKNIT woven elastic material, which consists of synthetic hydrophobic fibers and provides the necessary level of support, protection against dirt and moisture, and also has high vapor permeability. In addition, reinforcing and supporting pads made of flexible thermopolyurethane are used on the outside. The lining of the new shoes is made using the previously announced Gore-Tex 3D Fit Footwear technology.
The outsole of the Terrex Free Hiker features a multi-layered construction with a durable Continental outsole and a Boost cushioning midsole. In addition, the sole also uses an insert made of denser foamed polyurethane and a TPU instep in the central part. The average weight of a pair of shoes, unfortunately, is not yet specified by the manufacturer.
The presented hiking boots of the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker series will go on free retail sale at the end of February 2019, both men’s and women’s versions are announced. Suggested retail price is around $200.
