In addition to the new generation of Konseal FL and Norvan SL sneakers, Canadian company Arc’teryx has introduced several new products in the outerwear category, including new models of lightweight anorak jackets — Alpha SL Anorak and Atom SL Anorak. The first is characterized as a light and compact hardshell jacket, the second as a light and compact insulated jacket. Both models are designed with active outdoor use in mind, and are available in both men’s and women’s versions..
Hardshell jacket Alpha SL Anorak, whose average weight does not exceed 210 grams (180 g for the women’s version), is made of a three-layer Gore-Tex membrane material. To form the outer protective layer, a reinforced fabric called Hadron is used, consisting mainly of liquid crystal polymer fibers with an additional water-repellent treatment. With a low overall weight and high compactness, the material has high wear-resistant properties.
The design of the hardshell anorak jacket includes an adjustable hood with a small peak and a high storm collar, an extended back, volume adjustments at the hem, a frontal protected zip to the middle of the torso, profiled sleeves with adjustable cuffs and one chest pocket. The jacket is available in two solid colors for both men’s and women’s styles.
Padded anorak jacket Atom SL Anorak, which has a claimed weight of just 245 grams, or 230 grams for the women’s version, is made using thin Tyono and Permair nylon materials, the density of which does not exceed 20 denier. As a heat-insulating filler, a waterproof Coreloft brand insulation (40 g/m2) is used, the polyester fibers of which are treated with silicone.
The insulated jacket features an adjustable hood that rolls into a collar, a low back with volume adjustments on the sides, a mid-torso front zip fastening, profiled sleeves and one chest pocket with a zip fastening. The novelty is offered immediately in three or four variants of monophonic colors, both in women’s and men’s styles, respectively.
The Alpha SL Anorak and Atom SL Anorak jackets are already available for order through Arc’teryx’s official online store and are priced at $375 and $240 respectively.
