The Arc’teryx LEAF trademark, which is a specialized military-tactical line of the well-known Canadian outdoor company Arc’teryx, has prepared several new products for 2020 in different categories. The manufacturer introduced the second generation of lightweight Cold WX LT insulated clothing, the first generation of which was announced back in 2016, as well as a completely new softshell kit called Assault SV.
Similar to the first generation, the line Cold WX LT Gen 2 consists of two insulated jackets Cold WX Jacket LT Gen 2 (585 g) and Cold WX Hoody LT Gen 2 (680 g), which differ from each other by the presence of a hood in the latter, as well as one model of insulated trousers Cold WX Pant LT Gen 2 (605 G). The main change in the new generation touched directly on the insulation, which made it possible to create clothes that are lighter and more compact while maintaining its heat-insulating properties.
The outer layer of the novelties, as before, is made of a two-layer membrane material Gore Windstopper with a density of the outer polyester layer of no more than 40 denier, and hydrophobic Climashield Prism Fiberfill brand insulation (85 g/m2) is used as a heater, which provides for additional water-repellent treatment. The overall cut of the updated insulation layers, which are designed to be worn on their own or in combination with external windproof layers, has remained virtually unchanged.
New softshell kit Assault SV, whose cut is partly based on the Assault LT series, consists of the «combat» shirt Assault Shirt SV (333g) and Assault Pant SV (690g). To create the kit, the main material used is an elastic and hydrophobic material of the Tweave Durastretch brand, consisting of nylon and spandex fibers, with a declared density of 128 g/m2 and 184 g/m2. A less dense material is used to form the torso of the shirt.
The Assault Shirt SV is designed with a stand-up collar, mid-chest front zip fastening, profiled sleeves with adjustable cuffs, low-profile shoulder pockets, and zippered pockets. The cut of the trousers uses an adjustable waist area with wide belt loops, reinforced profiled knees with the possibility of inserting additional dampers, a reinforced buttock area, a wide gusset, and ten different pockets.
The updated Cold WX LT Gen 2 insulated kit has already been announced in both solid colors (Ranger Green, Crocodile, Wolf, Black) and MultiCam camo, the single-color versions of the Cold WX Jacket LT Gen 2 and Cold WX Hoody LT Gen 2 jackets are priced at 405 and $585, the solid color trousers cost $359. The Assault SV Softshell Kit is currently only available in MultiCam, with a suggested retail price of at least $314 for a shirt and $675 for trousers.
