In addition to the recently introduced High Route 1 FL tent, which will go on sale this month, Sierra Designs is preparing another interesting new product for next year, designed with the participation of professional light walker Andrew Skurka. In early spring, Sierra Designs is returning to the backpacking market with the release of the new Flex Capacitor 40-60 Pack, which has been in development for over two years..
The announced backpack is primarily distinguished by its original «corset» compression design, which allows you to adjust the useful volume of the backpack in the range from 40 to 60 liters, while the total empty weight of the backpack is just over 1.13 kg. Another interesting feature of the Flex Capacitor 40-60 Pack is its Y-FLEX Y-frame, which stands out for its swivel flexibility and the fact that it transfers weight directly to the center of the load belt.
Backpack Flex Capacitor 40-60 Pack is made mainly using rip-stop nylon with a declared density of no more than 100 denier, the bottom of the backpack and partly side pockets are made of 420 density nylon and Oxford weaving, areas of increased wear are reinforced with heavy-duty Dynema-type material ( Dyneema). Shoulder straps, unloading belt and part of the back of the backpack are formed by nylon mesh and EVA foam inserts.
Structurally, the backpack, in addition to the main adjustable compartment with an internal cover for a drinking system, provides for two compartments on the unloading belt with a zipper, two open side pockets and one relatively small compartment in the top flap. In addition, there are several compression straps and a pair of loops for attaching trekking poles from the outside.
Free sales of the presented Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor 40-60 Pack lightweight backpack should definitely start in early spring 2017, a small batch of up to 195 pieces will be released in October this year. Suggested retail price announced at $200.
