For the upcoming September, Casio announced the release of a new series of protective watches GBD-800 from the G-Shock G-Squad collection, which are based on the GBA-800 model introduced earlier this year. The new series of watches G-Squad GBD-800, which has already announced four models (GBD-800-1, GBD-800-2, GBD-800-4, GBD-800-8), differs both in general design and partly by its functionality.
The design and dimensions of the watch case of the G-Squad GBD-800 series (54.1 x 48.6 x15.5 mm, 59 g), compared to the GBA-800, remained practically unchanged, but the dial, which is protected by mineral glass, is exclusively electronic, without using analog hands. The overall tightness of the hull meets the parameter of 20 ATM (200 m). To fix the watch on the hand, a regular polyurethane strap with a metal buckle is provided.
Just like the models of the GBA-800 series, the GBD-800 shockproof sports watch is distinguished by the presence of a Bluetooth module (time synchronization, planning and tracking of training and their effectiveness), and a three-axis accelerometer, which allows you to take into account the number of steps, the rhythm of the step, as well as the transition from walking to running and back. Among the basic features, the world time function, an automatic calendar, five independent alarms, as well as a stopwatch and a countdown timer with extended functionality are announced.
In September 2018, the G-Shock G-Squad GBD-800 Sports Watch Collection is due to hit the Japanese market, with an estimated retail price of around $125 regardless of color choice.
