Gerber Gear has decided to update and expand its collection of relatively inexpensive Asada folding pocket knives based on the Flatiron model. The updated knife will be available in three design options. A choice of steels will be available: D2 and 7Cr17MoV, as well as two versions of the combined handle. At the same time, the overall dimensions and functionality of the knives will remain unchanged..

The cleaver-like blade of the Gerber Asada model, which provides for processing by the tumbling method, has a length of about 76.2 mm (64 mm cutting edge) and a butt thickness of up to 3.56 mm. The blade is removed with a small flipper and fixed with a steel frame. In addition to the steel lock, the 114 mm handle of the updated model can be formed by a textured grip from Micarta, or a brushed aluminum alloy.

The full length of the opened Gerber Asada knife does not exceed 190 mm, the average weight is about 133 grams. Versions with aluminum grips and a 7Cr17MoV blade are priced at $45, while the model with a D2 steel blade and Micarta is $56. It is possible to order new knives through the official online store of the brand.
