In the coming months, well-known knife company Gerber Gear will be adding to its diverse collection of folding pocket knives for everyday use with a new series called the Gerber Highbrow AO, which is an enlarged version of last year’s Gerber Highbrow Compact AO line. The new series features both larger dimensions and part of the folding blade profile, while maintaining the same materials, functionality and overall design..

The Gerber Highbrow AO line will initially feature six models that will differ in the color scheme of anodized aluminum plates, the presence or absence of coating on the blade, as well as their blade, with a straight or partially serrated sharpening. Regardless of the choice of version, to create a blade with a profile of the Drop-Point type, 2.5 mm stainless steel of the 7Cr17MoV brand is used, the hardness of which lies in the range of 57-59 HRC.

The spring-loaded Gerber Highbrow AO blade, which has a length of about 86 mm, is removed with a flipper and fixed with a proprietary two-sided Pivot Lock, similar to Axis Lock. The total length of the open knife is exactly 200 mm, the folded length is at least 114 mm. The average weight of new knives is 169 grams. The recommended retail price of new knives, regardless of the choice of design, is exactly 52 US dollars.
