
In addition to the Raven 3 GTX and Wildfire Edge boot and low shoes already unveiled, German brand Salewa has officially unveiled a number of new shoes for 2019 in various categories, including a pair of lightweight sneakers called Lite Train K, which was developed in collaboration with the French company Michelin, a well-known tire manufacturer. The new model, which is based on the Salewa Lite Train (2015), is noted by the manufacturer as lightweight, comfortable and durable enough for hiking, speed hiking, and cross-country running..



The upper of the lightweight sneakers is made almost entirely of quick-drying and vapor-permeable mesh, which is additionally reinforced in areas of increased wear with TPU overlays, and is also complemented by a lightweight 3F Total System lateral support system. Inside the sneakers, a bulky and quick-drying lining mesh is used, as well as an anatomical OrthoLite insole.

In addition to the anatomically shaped insole, which is mainly made of shock-absorbing foam with antibacterial treatment, with basic arch support, the sole of the Salewa Lite Train K hiking shoe is formed by a wide intermediate layer of dual-density EVA foam, as well as the Michelin Lite Train outsole layer with a versatile «aggressive «tread pattern. The outsole is made of Michelin Outdoor Compound TPU material, which has high wear resistance, tenacity, low weight. The height difference between the toe and heel is only 6 mm.

The Salewa Lite Train K Hiking Shoe will go on sale in spring 2019 with an estimated starting price of around $125 and will be available in both men’s and women’s versions in a variety of colors. The weight of a pair in the average men’s size is declared by the manufacturer at the level of 550 grams.
