Simultaneously with the previously introduced X-ALP SPRY series of lightweight running shoes, Salomon launched another line of hiking shoes called the Salomon Odyssey Pro. The manufacturer characterizes the novelty as a light, very comfortable and vapor-permeable pair of shoes for hiking on prepared routes and in relatively favorable weather conditions, when creating this model, the main emphasis was on the effective absorption and partial cushioning of vertical loads.
The virtually seamless upper of the new shoe, which will be offered in both men’s and women’s designs, is made primarily from breathable mesh material. To provide the necessary strength, wear resistance and support of the foot, on the outside it uses a flexible Sensifit thermopolyurethane frame with a seal in the front and back of the sneakers. Inside, a quick-drying volumetric mesh and an anatomical OrthoLite insole are used.
The outsole of the Salomon Odyssey Pro hiking shoe is based on EnergyCell+ cushioning technology, which is a wide intermediate layer of high-density porous EVA foam, characterized by a high level of absorption of vertical loads, optimal strength and wear resistance, as well as maintaining its properties throughout the entire period of operation. The versatile outsole is made from the familiar Contagrip TPU material.
The Salomon Odyssey Pro Low Hiking Shoe is already available in a variety of solid and mixed colors, and is priced at $140 USD, excluding international shipping. The average weight of a male pair is no more than 630 grams.
