Salomon’s latest addition to the footwear category is the relatively lightweight OUTbound GTX hiking shoe, designed for both lightweight outdoors and everyday urban use. The novelty stands out for its lightweight, seamless and modern design, as well as the presence of heel support, basic protection against mechanical damage and a waterproof membrane..
The seamless upper of the new sneakers is made almost entirely of dense nylon fabric with a water-repellent treatment, which is complemented on the outside by a polyurethane carcass, including for heel support and toe protection. Inside, a quick-drying mesh lining, a Gore-Tex brand membrane and an anatomical OrthoLite brand insole are used.
The sole of the sneaker is based on the wear-resistant Contagrip MD outsole, which provides a universal tread pattern, spike heights up to 5 mm, and is complemented by an intermediate shock-absorbing layer of EnergyCell made of EVA foam. The height difference between the heel and the toe does not exceed 9 mm. The average weight of a pair of men’s running shoes is around 610 grams.
At this stage, the new Salomon OUTbound GTX Hiking/Casual Shoe is available in multiple colorways in both men’s and women’s styles, and is priced at $100 from the manufacturer. An order can be placed through the official website of the company.
