Salomon recently expanded its Approach line of specialty mountain shoes with a new low-cut, lightweight hiking shoe commercially known as the Salomon X-ALP SPRY. A new pair of performance shoes, according to the manufacturer, combines the grip and flexibility of rock climbing shoes and trail running shoes with the protection, support and design of the X-ALP Mountain Boot..

The upper of the new hiking shoe uses durable and breathable nylon with durable water-repellent TPU support and protection overlays, including SensiFit adaptive support technology. The interior features a quick-drying mesh material and an anatomical perforated OrthoLite sockliner that provides basic heel and arch support and is treated with an antibacterial treatment.

The Salomon X-ALP SPRY hiking shoe, which was designed for use primarily in mountainous terrain, has an exclusive outsole based on a flexible outsole made of technologically advanced TPU material Contagrip, a two-component intermediate layer of shock-absorbing EVA foam of different density and flexibility, as well as a supportive arch support in the central part. The average weight of a male pair is stated at 642 grams.

The Salomon X-ALP SPRY hiking shoe is available in a range of colors in both men’s and women’s designs and has a suggested retail price of $130.
