For this season, the well-known Italian shoe company Scarpa has expanded its Approach hiking shoe collection with two new sneaker models — Zen Pro and Zen Lite GTX. The Approach collection focuses on models that combine the lightness, flexibility of climbing shoes and durability, the universal rigid tread of trekking shoes. The Zen Pro and Zen Lite GTX models are the continuation of the previously released Zen model. In addition to the appearance, sneakers differ in the upper material, lining and tread pattern.

The top of the Zen Pro model is made with a combination of 1.8 mm leather and polyurethane on the sides in the lower part, the heel is protected by an additional layer of leather, and the toe, in addition to two layers of leather, is complemented by a dense rubber overlay. The lining is made from a combination of stretch mesh with Cocona technologies that reduces drying time and controls odor. The Zen Lite GTX has a breathable nylon upper and PU inserts, while the toe box is protected by a less dense rubber layer than the Zen Pro. The lining is a Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane.

The outsole of both models is exactly the same, it is paired with an anatomical P-Flex insole, which is made of flexible polypropylene 3.5 mm thick. The outsole itself consists of a light gray EVA midsole and an all-black Vibram TPU outsole with an aggressive Spyder II tread.

New models of hiking shoes are already available in some stores of official dealers of the company, the Scarpa Zen Pro sneakers are priced at $170, and the Zen Lite GTX model is $180. The total weight of a pair of medium-sized sneakers is 480 and 415 grams respectively.
