Knife brand The James Brand (TJB), which mainly specializes in small folding knives for everyday carry, has introduced a new series of elegant pocket knives called The Duval (The Modern Gentlemen’s Knife). At this stage, there are three models in the series, which differ from each other in the materials of the overlays on the handle, as well as the type of steel for forming the blade of the Sheepsfoot type..
The Duval folding knife is available with a 67mm blade in either CPM S35VN (58-61 HRC) martensitic powdered stainless steel with a satin finish or a standalone premium version with a Damasteel Rose DS93X (60 HRC) Damascus stainless steel blade. Regardless of the choice of the final design option, the blade is removed using the front flipper and fixed with a frame-lock titanium lock.
The basis of the handle is formed by a frame made of titanium alloy, which can be complemented by overlays of Micarta, natural rosewood wood, or titanium alloy, when choosing the version with a Damascus steel blade. All mounting fittings are made of stainless steel, and the axial mounting is complemented by a ceramic bearing. The full length of the open knives is no more than 163 mm, the folded length is about 96 mm, the average weight of the knives does not exceed 57 grams.
The new Duval pocket knives with micarta and real wood have a suggested retail price of $275, while a limited edition full titanium handle and Damascus steel blade is $375. It is already possible to order the presented knives through the official online store of the brand.
