The Gerber Gear brand has published a small presentation video on its youtube channel, in which it presented its new line of Gerber Ayako budget knives. We already wrote about this series, which is made in the style of traditional Japanese swords and is available in two design options (Green, Silver)..
The Ayako folding blade is made of 7Cr17MoV steel (57-59 HRC). The handle is formed by an aluminum pad and a stainless steel Frame-Lock. The blade can be removed using the hole at the base, or using the front flipper. The total length of the knife is 205 mm, the length of the handle is 115 mm, the length of the blade is 89 mm, the thickness on the butt is 2.5 mm. Pocket knife weight 108 grams.
The Gerber Ayako series folding pocket knife is currently only available in two finishes (Green, Silver) and is priced at $31. An order can be placed on the manufacturer’s website.
