This year, The North Face, in addition to developing a line of clothing made from ThermoBall branded synthetic insulation, is entering the natural waterproof down market. The Supernatural Jacket will be one of the first down jackets to feature water-resistant ProDown insulation — water-repellent goose down. The company says the new insulation stays dry for up to 100 minutes in wet conditions.

The Supernatural Jacket features ProDown 950 FP insulation, a one-way zip closure, a small hood with an elasticated neckline and high collar, and two front zippered hand pockets. The outer and inner layer of the jacket is made using Pertex technology. The Supernatural Jacket is expected to have a MSRP of $450 and is scheduled to go on sale by the end of summer 2013 and will be available in both men’s and women’s models.
- The North Face has launched a new series of casual insulated jackets ThermoBall Eco and ThermoBall Super, which are made entirely from recycled materials.
